This is a beginner friendly pattern.

You make the crochet bauble coverings in 2 halves and sew them together around the bauble. You need to make sure that the

Using colour 1, make a magic circle and ch3 (counts as a st here and throughout).

Round 1: Work 9 dc into the circle. (If your bauble comes out too big or too small, add or take away dcs here to adjust the size). Join with a sl st to the 3rd ch. Fasten off.

Round 2: Join colour 2 in between the posts of the dcs from round 1 (you don't work in the top of the sts, just in the space between the posts). Ch3 and then work 1dc in the same space. Work 2dcs in between the posts of each stitch all the way around. Join with a sl st to the 3rd ch. Fasten off.

Round 3: Join colour 3 in a space between each 2dc cluster from round 2. Ch3 and work 2dcs in the same space. Work 3dc in each space around. Join with a sl st to the 3rd ch. Fasten off.

Round 4: Join colour 1 in a space between each 3dc cluster from round 3. Ch3 and work 2dcs in the same space. Work 3dc in each space around. Join with a sl st to the 3rd ch. DO NOT FASTEN OFF.

Round 5: Ch1. Work 1sc in the same stitch (this time you’re working in the top of the stitches) and in each st around. Join with a sl st and fasten off using a long tail.

Make another.

Once you have 2 halves, either sew in the tail ends (not the long tail you ended with, though, or just trim them short as they will be hidden in the bauble.

Using a darning needle, hold the 2 halves around the bauble and use the long tail to sew each side together. If you need more help with this, see my video.

Sew in the other tail end and finish with a hanging loop of ribbon or thread.

And there you have it!
